Eddie and Alex Van Halen are dicks.  This is a commonly reported fact.  I think they may be crossing the line now.

Ego and Asshole Van Halen are trying to screw Michael Anthony out of his Van Halen legacy.  Anthony has always been a key part of the bands success.  He is not only a great bassist, but he is a key songwriter, he gives the songs great balance with his backing vocals and harmonies, and has always seems the be the level head of the group. 

Now that Anthony was smart enough to not to participate in the VH reunion, Ego and Asshole are trying to erase him from the band’s past.  They recently removed his photo from the cover of  early VH albums on their web site and replaced them with pictures of Wolfgang.  After fans found out and got pissed about it, they quickly changed them back.

Now according to AntiMusic, Anthony’s name has been taken off the writing credits for some of the band’s songs.  The band always credited Ego, Asshole, Anthony, and the singer at the time, with the exception of  the three new songs on the ”Best of Both Worlds” compilation.   However, the VH song “Panama” appears in the movie “Super Bad” and Ego, Asshole, and David Lee Roth are the only ones credited.   AntiMusic checked the ASCAP database and found that he has also been removed from the songwriting credits of the album “1984″, but is still credited on the other releases.

Ego and Asshole also made Anthony sign a reduced royalty contract in order to be part in the 2004 reunion tour with Sammy Hagar.  The band may want to pretend he wasn’t a huge part of their success, but he will still be part of their upcoming tour.  The band is going to use pre-recorded tapes of Anthony, for the backing vocals. 

I’m glad to see that Michael Anthony is not part of this joke, finally a man with the balls to turn down money to keep his dignity.  I hope Ego and Dave get into a fist fight on stage, and this thing is over soon.  Wolfie may be a cool kid, but he can’t hold Michael Anthony’s big furry balls while he pisses, let alone take his place in the band. 

Michael Anthony,  you rule.

    I think they should erase Eddie Van Halen’s tongue from earlier album covers and videos, since it’s gone now.
