The Most Outrageous Music Videos
We all love to make best of/worst of list, but nobody screws up a list like Rolling Stone magazine. They are the Kings of bad lists and they put a new one on their web site every weekend. The newest one, isn’t as bad as most they come up with, but I want to know what everybody else would do with it.
The list is “The Twenty-Five Most Outrageous Music Videos”.
You can view the entire list here. All list are the list makes opinion, but how exactly Nine Inch Nails “Happiness Is Slavery” higher than “Closer”. What is outrageous about “Thriller”, “Hooked On A Feeling”, “Black Or White”, “The Bad Touch” or “Whip It”.
The list is a classic Rolling Stone list, full of a bunch of shit with a lot of better choices missing. So I give you my list and invite you to leave yours or just add to mine or correct mine.
Here is my top 10 Most Outrageous Videos.
1. Madonna - “Like A Prayer” I WILL AGREE WITH THEN ON THAT ONE
2. Aphex Twin - “Rubber Johnny” THIS IS A FUCKED UP VIDEO, IF YOU’VE NEVER SEEN IT HERE IT IS.
3. NWA - “Straight Outta Compton” AT THE TIME IT WAS RELEASED IT WAS A VERY CONTROVERCIAL VIDEO AND A SHOCK TO THE MAINSTREEM.
4. Nine Inch Nails - “Closer” THIS VIDEO IS VERY BIZARE.
5. The Avalanches - “Frontier Psychiatrist” THIS SONG WAS A MINOR HIT, THEN THE BAND FADED AWAY. THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO.
6. Aphex Twin - “Come To Daddy” THESE GUYS HAVE SOME SERIOUS PROBLEMS.
7. Prodigy - “Smack My Bitch Up” THIS VIDEO WAS BANNED BY MTV AND IT’S NOT HARD TO SEE WHY.
8. Madonna - “Justify My Love” THIS IS JUST MADONNA BEING MADONNA, SO THE LESBIAN SEX IS NOT QUITE AS SHOCKING COMING FROM HER.
9. Fatboy Slim - “Weapon Of Choice” ANY VIDEO WITH CHRISTOPER WALKIEN DANCING IS A CLASSIC AND I THINK IT’S OUTRAGEUOS
10. Marilyn Manson - “The Beautiful People” YOU COULD PUT ANY MANSON VIDEO IN, BUT THIS ONE IS THE BEST.

I don’t get are these supposed to best the baest videos? If so where is Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel?
If not how do you define outrageous?
I think this was a dumb idea by Rolling Stone and not very well defined.
Well, by most outrageous I think they mean most shocking - at least, that seems to be the way Eric and I took it.
The “Rubber Johnny” video would be my number 1 - that thing is messed up.
“Closer” is in there too.
Any shocking video by Madonna has always felt too calculated to actually be shocking.
1st time I’ve seen “Rubber Johnny.” This is completely jacked up. Was there a point to this though?
The “Frontier Psychiatrist” video is neither outrageous, shocking nor great. It was painful to watch and a waste of time to make.
Great choice on “Smack My Bitch Up” Eric. THAT is good stuff. And not just because of the hot chicks.
I don’t think “Weapon of Choice” is outrageous, but i LOVE that video. Walken rocks the free world!
Rolling Stone writers really are a bunch of tools. Their lists are among the worst ever.
