The First Internet Feature
Forget what people said about Snakes On A Plane being the product of internet fanboys. The Hollywood Reporter tells us that the world’s first internet-borne feature film is set to film this week.
The film contest was sponsored by MySpace, Vertigo Films, and Film4, and backed by the U.K. Film Counsil. They engaged in a search for a script, stars, and director among thousands of potential candidates who entered their Faintheart competition.
The winning director - in this case, Vito Rocco - won $2 million dollars in order to make the feature film, which was penned by winning screenwriter David Lemon. The film is a romantic comedy that follows a group of people who re-enact Viking battles as a hobby. Ooookkaayyy…
The winning short film that Rocco entered to win the competition is quite extraordinary. It received over 500,000 votes on MySpace.

That was brilliant. I very haunting and disturbing little movie. It’s also really sad.
The only person that cared about that little boy died and he just wanted to keep his friend around a little bit longer. Very sad.
