Drinking Jin
It looks like Lost maybe killing off yet another favorite. Daniel Dae Kim, who plays the Korean tough guy Jin-Soo Kwon was arrested yesterday on suspicion of drunken driving.
It in past, when a star of the show has been arrested for anything during the filming of the show, they have been killed off. It doesn’t matter who the person is or what big things they may have planned for their character.
This was evident with Michelle Rodriguez (Ana-Lucia) and Cynthia Watros (Libby), who were both arrested and pleaded guilty for drinking and driving. It seemed that the producers had big plans for them. The producers, though it seems, have taken a no tolerance stand on bad publicity and soon after the arrests, killed off the characters.
Even if Kwon (who was released after posting bail) was wrongly charged, he it still has a good chance of being killed off. Last year, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Mr. Eko) was arrested for a traffic violation, disobeying a police officer and driving without a license. The charges were dropped, but his character also, was killed off.
I understand the producers stance on this issue. They have set a standard they want portrayed by the actors/actresses of the show and they expect then to respect that. Jin though, has slowly become a favorite amongst Lost fans and their is still alot to learn bout him. I hope that if they do the expected and kill him, they at least do it in a cool way and leave no secrets to his past.
