This Is The New Shit
I’m getting really tired of the shit on the radio, so today I went looking for some new music videos. I know it’s a completely lost art form, put some people are still making them. So I would let you check out some of the stuff I found.
The first thing that caught my attention, was a video by Ingrid Michaelson. Her video for the song The Way I Am, is kinda weird and creepy. It takes place in some sort of clown whore house. I guess you can never go wrong with that.
I also came across the new single from Bo Bice. Bice was supposed to be the first real rocker to come out of American Idol and hit it big, but he has quickly lost the title that spot to Chris Daughtry. Bice’s first album was a little to Pop, so now he is trying to redeem himself, with some Southern Rock Blues. The songs not bad, but it come across like a Lenny Kravitz reject.
The video is also kind of generic. In between shot of his band playing in a shed, we see him in the “do good for somebody and it come back on you” role. I felt like I was watching a Nickelback video. I expected better from Bice.
Up next is Feist. Leslie Feist is the singer of the Canadian band, Broken Social Scene, but she also performs solo under her last name. Somebody actually recommended me to listen to her, so I did. This video is for the song 1234, it’s a catchy song. It’s almost like a kids nursery rhyme, well for demented kids.
The video is fucking dumb. Feist looks like what Bjork would, if she were hot. The video is like an old soda commercial. Watching this, I was imagining Bjork in High School Musical, bizarre.
Finally, I REC favorite, The White Stripes. Actually we hate this stupid fucking band, except KC, but he has shitty taste in music. Their new video Conquest is out and I’m not sure which is worse the song or the video. I know, I would prefer to watch Jack White rough up Meg in the bed than this shit. I would say that Meg looks better in this video than her last. I wonder if Jack would rather fuck Meg or the Bull, they are almost the same.

Yeesh … that white stripes video sucks, which means it’s perfect for the song.
