Head Into The Orphanage

This holiday season, don’t forget about all the kids in the orphanage.  Well actually, just make sure to check out Guillermo Del Toro’s (Mimic, Hellboy) new horror movie The Orphanage.  That should be better than going and making your self all depressed by the crying little kids with no parents.  They always want to try and ruin your day, by making you feel bad for their sad lives.  They have a place to live and get food, what the hell else do they want?

Anyway, The Orphanage is about  a woman who buys the orphanage that she was raised in with the hopes of reopening it as a home for children with disabilities.  As she is living in the building preparing to reopen it, her adopted son gets a new imaginary friend.  That’s is when the crazy shit starts to happen.

That is a pretty common plot, but the movie got good reviews at it’s film festival screenings.  The movie has a pretty creepy look to it, kind of like The Shining.  The kid in the mask is fucking scary, what is it about foreigners making kids scary in movies?   I love that the son is named Demon or atleast that’s what is sounds like she’s calling him.

The movie opens in the U.S. on Dec. 28th, so it will be a good way to get yourself out of the Christmas mode.  The trailers looks pretty creepy, I just hope that it has a little substance.

Here are the first two trailers for the movie.

That little orphan freaks my right out. There is a serious lack of movies that ACTUALLY scare, but this looks pretty creepy.

Yeah, when I first saw this, it looked like it had some serious potential.
