Beat The Press

pdv_mtp_netcast.jpgRepublican Presidential candidate Ron Paul stepped into the real political arena this morning as he submitted to a furious grilling by Tim Russert on Meet The Press.

Russert, armed with a handful of neo-con spin questions, did the bidding of his Big Media masters and attempted to assassinate Paul’s political chances. To some degree, Russert succeeded.

I think Paul hurt himself with this appearance. He appeared slightly confused with some of Russert’s attacks, and also gave off an air of defensiveness. Middle America desires a smooth talking, charismatic leader, and here Paul didn’t come off that way. The Bible-thumpers watching this before heading to church will not like much of what he said and projected here.

This might be his first preventable bad move.

Oooooh … then I can be Vice President!!

Seriously, though … are you that pessimistic that you believe no change can ever come?? That it will and must be always and forever politics as usual???

Yes I am, Ron Paul is not the first outsider to come in with new ideas, just to come in and get slaughtered. (SEE: Ralph Nader) I applaud Paul on his ability to raise money, thats been incredible. But this is gonna be what happens. He clearly is NOT going to get the republican nomination. He’ll run as a independent, and steal votes from whatever puppet the republicans decide to throw out there. The George W. backlash will be great enough to get a democrat elected, they will serve for 4 years, screw it up, and we will be looking at another 8-12 years of republican rule.

Tim you’re a republican? That’s funny. I guess now that you’ve reached that higher tax bracket with the big promotion and all, you have to worship the feet of the thieving ass republicans. It’s a sad sad day.

I hate to say it, but Tim’s prediction is probably pretty close to right. By the time America wakes up to how badly George W. Shitstain has fucked up our country, there will be a Democrat in office to take the blame. Think about it. A Dem gets elected, inherits the largest deficit in history along with dubya’s War on Terra and the coming recession. When the Dem tries to address these problems through tax increases and cuts in military spending, they’ll get crucified in the press and bounced after one term. Then the Repubs can get back to dismantling the constitution. Sigh.

    Double sigh.
