Semi-Funny
Will Ferrell has made the same movie three or four times now, each with less success. I love the guy; I think he might be the single funniest thing to ever hit Saturday Night Live. However, he has yet to find a movie that completely captures his unique comedic gift.
His newest film, Semi Pro, looks to follow the Ferrell Formula: wacky, out-of-touch athlete/star bungles his way through his sport/profession until he learns a valuable lesson. The Ferrell Formula closely follows the Sandler Formula in both substance and laughs.
After the first trailer disappeared with an apathetic ho-hum, the marketing department stitched together a red-band trailer in order to highlight the number of times the word “cock” is said throughout the film. While it is a funny word, I’m not sure it’s quite as hilarious as they obviously think it is.
There is one funny moment in this trailer. Let me know which one you think I laughed at.
