Great Live Performances - Folsom Prison Blues
In an AP report released today, a concert that would have commemorated the 40th anniversary of Johnny Cash’s incredible performance at Folsom State Prison was cancelled. The concert that would have been held this Sunday was cancelled because people are douche bags.
A cool idea to honor the rock and country legend is ruined because of bureaucratic bullshit and greed. While the album has gone on to be an essential part of any music library, no video footage of the performance exists. So in honor of the upcoming anniversary Johnny’s landmark performance at Folsom, here is Johnny live at San Quentin.

Johnny had a lot of energy in his live performances, even though the music itself was never that “wild.”
I still have no idea how he played that damn guitar while wearing it like a bowtie, though. It’s the most uncomfortable-looking guitar playing method in the history of the instrument. He was like the anti-Slash.
