Spiezio Rocks
St. Louis Cardinals fan favorite and utility player Scott Spiezio is not only a clutch hitter of the bench, but he is also a hard rocker. Do you think he has a career after baseball?
Last season, Scott Spiezio left the St. Louis Cardinals for a few weeks due to a substance abuse problem. Spiezio needed some personal time to get through is abuse problem and also to help him deal with the death of his friend and teammate Josh Hancock. Spiezio also used this time to write some new songs for his heavy metal band Sandfrog.
He is a huge fan of heavy metal and formed Sandfrog a few years ago to live out yet another dream of being a rock star. He band has finished recording new album, Off Season and have recorded a video for the albums first single, LITL.
This is not the first time Spiezio’s has been given a chance to show his musical side. A few years ago, he appeared on The Best Damn Sport Show Period and performed with an all-star band. He performed the song Stigmata with Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Ozzy), Mike Inez (Alice In Chains, Ozzy), and John Tempesta (Testament, Rob Zombie).
Spiezio will be back with the Cardinals come spring, but until then he will be concentrating on the band.
