Goodbye, Heath
Most words fail to convey the utter helplessness and sadness at the passing of someone special like Heath Ledger. News reports can tell you the forensic details, but nothing can really capture the heart-raping agony of this talented boy’s death.
Here’s a poem that I put together in honor of this wonderful and troubled young man.
Balloon Into The Wind
(for Heath Ledger)
What might you be?
With air, you might
spread wide into an inviting face,
or stretch unsure
into a crooked grin.
Whatever the form, I held
The string that tossed you
This way and that.
Whatever the form, I held
Nothing forever.
With air, you might
Change your shape,
but never
The end result. With
A careless eye,
A slack and idle hand,
I let go of whatever
You might be. Tossed in the wind,
You rise and fall
Away from me.

Thanks for chimming in Jake.
LOL brilliant.
The word is chiming. “Chimming” might be what they did in that pup tent.
Ray can’t quit him.
I wish I knew how.
Reading that poem was like watching Brian Botano figure skate, while making out with Clay Aiken. I will never be the same.
He was a talented actor and a remarkable person. Wherever he is now, may he rest in peace.
@ BOBO - I got the same feeling. I think I may be the only straight man on this site. Ray appears to be in love and Chris was basically sucking his dick as they carried him out of the apartment.
Great visual there, Eric. Thanks for that. I preferred the balloon, though.
