Great Live Performance
Last night, the 2008 Grammy Awards were handed out. The awards provided no real surprises, but the show did gives us a couple of great performances.
The theme of the show was the last 50 years/the next 50 years, in honor of the 50th anniversary of the award show. Most of the performances featured a performance by both a music legend and a current star. Two of last night’s performances stood out from the pack and I would consider both to be great.
First, last night was the return to the stage for Tina Turner. The 69 year old has pretty much retired from performing, but last night she showed she still has it. She performed solo and then a duet of Proud Mary with Beyonce that stole the show. Here is the performance in two parts, first Turner’s intro from Beyonce followed by the duet of Proud Mary.
That wasn’t the only great performance of the night. During a tribute to the Beatles, and after a pretty cool performance by Cirque Du Soleil, the cast of the movie Across The Universe performed the song Let It Be. The performance featured 15 year old Timothy Mitchum and Carol Woods who both did and amazing job turning the Beatles classic into a gospel song. Here is a video featuring both tributes to the Beatles.

You gots to admit that the lady still has it. I saw clips of this on the news and from a distance I asked who the hottie was performing with Beyonce.
The performance was OK I guess, but I could have done without the gold lema Depends. GROSS
