Monday Night Metal 11-19
Check out some kick-ass videos from, an experimental goth metal band, some brutal death metal and some rare live Sabbath.
Great Live Performance
Earlier this year, the Live Earth concert gave us a number of great performances. I thought this one really stuck out as one of the better overall moments of the concert.
Insanity!

“Dad, can we go see Hanna Montana in concert. Please, please, please, I’ll do anything.”
“Do you promise not to tell anyone that I was hiding in the closet with my pants around my ankles at your last slumber party.”
“Okay, I promise.”
“Good. Then we can go.” Read more
How Does This Shit Keep Happening
What the hell is wrong with people. The world must be coming to an end soon. Can somebody please explain this to me.
Country’s New School
Last night country music had it’s big night. The Country Music Association’s had it’s 41st annual CMA award show and had a few pleasant surprises. The award show has long been deemed political by many in the country music industry, mostly by the ones that don’t win or get nominated. So this year, some of country music big manes boycotted the event. Stars like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Toby Keith decide not to attend.
Getting Through A Pickle
Last night’s CMA award show was full of good performances. One of the standout performances was by former American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler. She performed her single, I Wonder, which is a song she co-wrote about her estranged relationship with her mother.
Monday Night Metal 11-05
It’s Monday again and that means it’s time for Monday Night Metal. Tonight we have an Armenian band, a band that helped pioneer Death Metal, and some symphonic power metal.
Face Is Much Better Than Rod
Before Rod Stewart was wooing the panties off of fat, unmarried old maids and playing elevator music, he was the hard rocking blues singer for Faces.
Metallica Play Garbage
It looks like I have yet another answer to look for in The Encyclopedia Of Metallica. I need an answer to this question. What the hell were they thinking covering Rare Earth and Garbage at the Bridge School Benefit?
When Music Changed Everything
July 13, 1985.
It remains the largest single musical event in history. Twenty hours of music. Over fifty of music’s biggest acts. Three continents. 1.5 billion viewers. To date it has raised over $250 million dollars to save Ethiopia.
And, sadly, it will never happen again.
Rolling Around In Foo
It seems strange that the person who gained the most from the death of Kurt Cobain, was not the person who killed him, COURTNEY LOVE. It was actually Dave Grohl. Had Cobain lived and Nirvana continued, Grohl would have been left buried behind the drum kit with all of his talent trapped inside of just two small drum sticks. After all, drummers are never allowed to write songs.
Monday Night Metal 10-22
What’s up!!! It’s time for Monday Night Metal. Tonight’s edition includes a jazzy-metal band with ties to Black Sabbath, Dave Mustaine’s multi-personalities, and some old school glam/thrash.
Living The White Trash Dream
Kid Rock has got to be a hero for White Trash America. I would put him right up there next to Larry The Cable Guy and Dale Earnhardt Jr. as far his importance to the community. He’s living proof that, just because you make a few dollars, you don’t need to give up your trailer park roots.
Classic Beat Off
We have mentioned numerous times, on this site how great the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson was. We could do classic Tonight Show moments every day and not run out of clips. One of my favorite clips was a drum off between two of the world’s greatest drummers.
Hail Hail Rock n’ Roll
Today the man responsible for the sound we know as Rock ‘n Roll, Chuck Berry, turned 81. Berry’s music continues to impact and inspire young musicians. Berry like the music he created has never stopped. He still performs with passion and energy, and is even still doing the duck walk. He has a concert once a month, in his hometown of St. Louis, at the small club, Blueberry Hill.
Berry will take a rare month off from playing Blueberry Hill, in November, because he is off to Europe for two weeks of shows. Berry is one of our last musical legends, so if you get the chance to see him perform, don’t pass it up. You won’t be disappointed.
Burning Down The Show
Man, I can’t wait for Jay Leno to retire. Once he finally does, Conan O’Brien will get to take over and the Tonight Show will finally be funny again. This past Monday, during the taping of Late Night, Conan showed why he’s is the second best guy on Late Night (sorry, but Letterman is still the king).

Monday Night Metal 10-15
Here everybody! What’s up? Tonight’s edition of Monday Night Metal features a kick ass new band (which a cool name), some folk-metal, and one of the originators of Thrash. So let’s play just play it.
Great Live Performance
This performance is from one of the greatest Heavy Metal bands of all time. The performance is from 2001’s Rock In Rio Festival. It’s the band in classic mode, great vocals, alot of energy, and great crowd participation. This is why they still have a big following.
Happy Birthday Dave
Today is David Lee Roth’s birthday. The once energetic, flamboyant, captivating Van Halen front man is 53 years old now. As we have documented here, with the new Van Halen performances, aging has been really tough for poor Dave. He is losing his hair, he is even more crazy and annoying than ever, his voices sounds terrible now, and he can’t do is big kick anymore.
So in honor of Dave’s birthday and the new VH tour, I thought I would give you a few VH related things that would make this tour even better tour.
