Tired of seeing this fame-baiting douche-tard yet?

Video blogger Chris Crocker’s astounding four day rise to worldwide phenomenon received a little boost from Jimmy Kimmel. On  Jimmy Kimmel Live, the ever-so-slightly flamboyant YouTube “artist” granted an interview with the cross-eyed Kimmel.

Check it out:

I must say that Crocker handled himself better than I might have expected given that this is his first appearance on a major media outlet – and that he is basically the butt of a joke. The audience snickers in the background like they have wandered into the bearded lady’s tent at the freakshow, but Crocker plays up to it well.

Having said that, it’s time this guy goes away or finds a new act. It’s fun to act weird and get some attention, but rarely does that flash of attention translate into anything sustainable or desirable. Media is littered with fame junkies and disposable nutjobs, and never has it been more prevalent than in today’s internet-paced world.

Time will tell if Crocker’s 5 million-and-counting views on YouTube will ever amount to anything … but in the meantime, he’s on television.

Yipee.
