Can you believe this? This is really going to piss Paramount off. Warner Brothers is re-making the 2007 classic film “Transformers.” Crazy…
When I say “Transfomers” of course, I mean “Robotech,” a cartoon series from the 1980′s based on giant robots defending Earth from alien enemies.
With “Transformers,” and “Voltron,” it was only a matter of time before W.B. came out with this. Message to W.B.: “It’s all the same!!!!”
I have never heard of “Robotech.” I don’t care about “Robotech.” The Trasformers franchise was a great idea to start up. Everyone wanted to see giant robots kicking the crap out of each other. Their mistake was Michael Bay. But of course, now we are going to have 3 different series of Giant Robot movies fighting it out to be the best. UGH.
Hollywood’s regurgitation of it’s own vomit never ceases to amaze me. “Robotech’s” producer, you ask? Tobey Maguire. Oh yeah … he’ll more than likely be in the film also. You guys thought THIS year was rough for the ‘blockbuster’ movies … Just wait, strike or no strike, 2008 and 2009 will end up being FAR worse.
Just like all the rest, this movie is bound to deliver amazing special effects, but have no acting, no real plot, 12 inch shots of the robots fighting, and a human that saves the day. BLOW ME W.B.

I have never heard of Robotech and I could give a shit less about a movie for it. I just hope everybody else feels the same way.
uh no offense but im pretty sure robotech was out before transformers. its a really good series. you shouldnt judge it before u check it out
i’ve been a fan of all three of these cartoons since the 80′s the robotech movie should be just as good as transformers and the voltron movie will be just good as well. like chris siad don’t knock it till you see it.
In retrospect, Robotech was an amazing show for it’s time. A lot of it’s good by today’s standards. Of course it doesn’t need a Hollywood movie made of it, but seriously it has nothing to do with Transformers. It even came out a couple of years before Transformers and it’s all about pilots and military anyway.
That said, I really don’t think Tobey should be in it. He’s just not a Rick. Or a Roy. Or Max. Or…..any of the male characters. Ugh.

Robotech also called Macross is one of the best anime series. The storyline is a lot of better than transformers and voltron.

Wow. some folks revile Robotech (or rather they revile Harmony Gold for what they have done to the Macross frantise). It’s a movie that probably won’t get made so what’s the worry. I’d rather finally see Macross merchantdise than any Robocrap anyway. It’s not Veritechs, It’s Variable Fighters, whether it’s a VF-1 Valkyrie, VF-19 Excalibur or the current flavor from MF, VF-25 Messiah.
Robotech is awesome. can’t wait.
